Dear Sellers,

The days are getting shorter and the trees are growing bare. We all know what this means - Holiday Season is near! Being prepared for the busy weeks ahead will certainly make for an easier (and more profitable) season. We've come up with a list of ways to help you prepare for the Holiday Selling Season.

  • Make sure your contact information in FillZ and on the marketplaces is up-to-date. If there is a concern with any of your accounts, you'll want to know right away.
  • Check your e-mail filter settings. Make sure important FillZ or marketplace news is not going to your spam folder. Add news1@fillz.com, billing@fillz.com, and support@fillz.com to your safety list!
  • Make sure your billing information is up-to-date.
  • Use automated emails and packing slips to show item details, communicate your policies, and provide contact information to buyers.
  • Use automated emails and packing slips to add a personal touch. Thank your buyers and wish them Happy Holidays!
  • Consider offering expedited shipping for the Holiday Season to satisfy those last minute shoppers.
  • Review your online and physical inventory. An accurate inventory means more fulfilled orders.
  • Confirm your pricing strategy and let us know in advance if you have a script request.
  • Use a filter script to reduce double sales on your popular items. Ask us how!
  • Confirm your orders in FillZ (for supported marketplaces) to ensure they don't expire on the marketplaces, and to let buyers know their item is on the way.

Happy Selling,

Jessica

Marketplace News

AbeBooks - Want to sell more on AbeBooks? Reevaluate your shipping fees. AbeBooks has recently changed their default search setting from lowest book price to lowest book + shipping price. Try AbeBooks Free Shipping Program to attract holiday shoppers. The feature rates very high with AbeBooks buyers! Contact AbeBooks for more information.

New Features

Email Address Links on Orders - We've made the buyer email address on orders into a link! Simply click the address to compose an email to your buyer.

Billing Address - We've added a field for Billing Address on the "My Account" page. Log into FillZ and go to "Settings" -> "My Account" to fill it out. Please note that we will continue to send all invoices via email.

Reminders

Charge When Ship - In June we announced that we've added support for Amazon's Charge When Ship feature. CWS is now mandatory on all Amazon websites and we'd like to remind you to ensure that your FillZ account is set up to manage the CWS requirements. If you have not yet updated your FillZ account for CWS support, please click here for instructions!

Currency Settings - In August we announced that we've added better support for managing currencies. Please remember that the sending items without a currency conversion ("price as is") setting that is currently on your "My Account" page is deprecated and will soon be removed. Please set your Global Currency Settings and marketplace configurations, and disable the "price as is" options on the "My Account" page. Please click here for all the details, and let us know if you have any questions.

Alibris Order Confirmations - In September we announced that we've switched over to using Alibris' EDI for confirming orders on their marketplace. If there's an issue with an order confirmation, Alibris will let you know. We'd like to remind you to keep an eye out for email notifications from Alibris for failed order confirmations.

Need to cancel an order?

If a buyer cancels or returns an order, you should move the order to "Cancelled" status within your FillZ account.

Moving an order to "Cancelled" on FillZ does not cancel the order on the marketplace. You will need to go directly to the marketplace to cancel the order there, and process a refund if necessary.

You will not be charged commission for any orders that are moved to "Cancelled" before the 2nd day of the following month.

For example, if you received an order on October 3rd and the buyer cancelled or requested a refund, as long as the order is moved to "Cancelled" status in FillZ by November 2nd, you will not be charged commission for the order.

CS Tip
Losing preceding 0's in your Excel inventory file?

To prevent the loss of preceding 0's of product ids in an Excel inventory file, start by opening Excel. Once Excel is open on your computer, click to open the inventory file.

The Excel Text Import Wizard will walk you through Steps 1 and 2. At Text Import Wizard Step 3, click on the product id column to highlight it. In the Column data format box select "Text", then click "Finish".
